During the 2-year warranty period, all updates and improvements in the software are installed free of charge. Since the software is completely developed by Alfion, revisions requested by the hospital can be developed in the software.

All data is stored on a server in the hospital's own local network. There is no limit on the information to be stored on the server and the hospital can use the software for an unlimited time. The latest installation files of the software are available on the Internet in an accessible directory and hospital IT staff can access it upon request.

All sets, solo instruments and consumables can be added to the system and the inventory can be viewed on all terminals. The system also allows batch production of consumables.

All users can log in to the system with a user ID card. The software works using only barcode readers without the need for a keyboard and mouse. All screens are designed large and simple. For this reason, sterilization users adapt very quickly to the extremely user-friendly interface.

Administrator users can define the required parameters in the system themselves (new autoclave definition, new user definition and so on).

The transmission of data sent by washer disinfectors and sterilizers is commonly done via the RS232 serial port. With this method, Alfion STS integrates with all devices, reads the data and saves it to the system.

The portable laser marking device is positioned in the sterilization unit and the entire laser marking process is done on site. You do not need to take the sets out of the hospital. This simplifies the process of identifying marked instruments in the system.

There are operational user and administrator roles in the system. Each user can operate within the limits of their authorization. Users in the administrator role have access to the reporting and overview screens. The following reports can be accessed through the system.

Yes. The group portal connects to each site's database and merges the results under the site name. It offers charts comparing sites, ready-made reports and Excel export; a site that cannot be reached does not block the others.

Yes. The integration service presents set, solo instrument and reusable item data with authentication and read-only access. The integrator receives a machine-readable OpenAPI contract and an integration guide.

No. The rules run on the hospital server and only read the STS database. Internet is needed only for the optional cloud service; even then only aggregate numbers leave the hospital, and patient or staff information is never sent.
